Is the Pen Mightier than the Sword?

In my opinion the pen is mightier than the sword. A written word or a spoken word has a greater impact on society than the sword. Socrates had people think critically with words. Schools should teach students to use the pen and not just teach about war. People think differently. For example, Socrates taught Plato to think critically, and Plato opened up a school and taught students to think critically in his own way. I think that words of wisdom may create sentences that may help stop the sword.
