In the messed up society we live in today, beauty has more impact than truth. Beauty in many cases is a symbol of power. “Beauty” is something people spend hundreds of dollars to achieve. The more appealing you are to the human eye, the more people will listen to you. This is how beauty impacts society.

People with power do their best to look beautiful. People with power usually have a lot of money, meaning they can spend a lot to look beautiful. Most people with power like to look “beautiful.” These people spend a lot of money on nice clothes such as dresses, and suits. For an example a politician’s job requires them to dress up with a suit. Who has more power than the government? Also a celebrity has to keep a certain image where they can never come out in sweatpants and hair tied back. This is all done because they want to seem “beautiful.”

There seems to be no price for what society calls beauty since people spend hundreds on it. People spend hundreds of dollars, maybe even thousands on cosmetics and hair products. Because of makeup industries the definition of beautiful for a girl is small waist with their faces covered in makeup. With these products, girls are changing how they look completely by dying their hair and trying to fit themselves into the norm imposed on the society. This is how beauty impacts society.

Beauty can kill many people. There have been many cases where a student was bullied because they did not fit society rules of beauty and have committed suicide. In other cases people have gone to the doctor for plastic surgery or liposuction and have died because of something wrong that happened during the process. Another case is when people starve themselves and become anorexic. It is an unhealthy thing for people to do since they can die from the lack of nutrition.

This is how beauty impacts society and why it impacts society more than truth. Beauty in many cases is a symbol of power. “Beauty” is something people spend hundreds of dollars to achieve. The more appealing you are to the human eye, the more people will listen to you. This is how beauty impacts society.
