2006 — 2nd Grade 3rd Place

Elise Farnham, Minnesota

I think hope is more powerful than fear because when I hope I feel I have a better chance of accomplishing what I want to. When I fear, I feel I have a thread of a chance to accomplish what I want to. To me hope has a lot in it, where as fear has almost nothing. It is hard for me to fear when I know there is still hope. Fear is strong, but hope is stronger. When I fear, I feel upset. When I hope I feel good. Hope is a gentle breeze, but fear is a whipping icy wind.
